In 1971, “Daddy” Tom Mozeley and Wife “Mamma” Bill moved their three children from the Oakdale area of Charlotte to Mooresville.  At the time Tom was still building commercial property with Hipp Construction but realized the growth and need for builders on the only 8 year old Lake Norman.  With the newly completed Interstate 77, many people had began to realize the value of moving north from Charlotte and seizing the opportunity to purchase lake lots that Duke Power were selling and leasing.  In 1973, Tom made the decision to leave his long time career with Hipp Construction to fulfill his dream of becoming an entrepreneur and Mozeley Construction was born.  His son Mark was only 13 when they had moved to Brawley School Road but he would work with his dad when not attending classes at Brawley School or playing with his friends on the lake.  As the years passed on and Mark growing older, he became increasing involved in the family business.  In 1989, Tom passed down the company to Mark.  Today, nearly 50 years later, Mark and his son Gary have continued to build docks, piers and boathouses utilizing the highest quality material and integrity that "Daddy" Tom cherished from the beginning.
